Guernsey has embraced the online world for a number of years and organizations such as 7dayshop.com and cheapsmells.com are local businesses and global success stories.

Some of internet retail’s biggest names are setting up to do business in the Channel Islands and e-commerce is fast becoming a mainstay of the economies. Tesco, Sainsbury and Play.com are all reported to have operations in the Islands and many smaller businesses conduct e-tailing from Guernsey. Because the island is outside the EU but has a close relationship with the UK, its unique tax position is attractive to online e-tailers.
