It has a governing Council comprising of representatives of all sectors of the industry, which meets on a monthly basis to discuss all current issues affecting the industry. GIBA respond to concerns over Zero/10 strategy
Following recent claims by the Treasury & Resources minster Charles Parkinson that Guernsey would not be immune to current global events and that government would need to review the Island's Zero/10 strategy, GIBA (Guernsey Intenrational Banking Association) have made the following statement.

GIBA expects positive report from UK Treasury investigation
The news that the UK Government intends to carry out a review into offshore centres is not something that should alarm the finance industry in Guernsey – or indeed the rest of the Island economy according to a statement from GIBA Chairman Steve Le Page.

Weathering the storm
Recent tumultuous events are unfolding internationally and it would be naive to think that Guernsey can remain entirely immunised from these events but Paul Meader, Vice President of Guernsey International Business Assocition, beleives Guernsey is well placed to weather the current global economic storm.
